Sea and flamingos

Molentargius Park with its pink flamingos in their natural habitat. Then, a visit to the beautiful Poetto beach with an opportunity to relax.

Pink flamingos are the symbol of the city and the pond where they live is a unique environment.

The Regional Natural Park Molentargius-Saline is one of the largest and most important wetlands in Europe because it is composed by freshwater and saltwater basins, which are separated by a dry area called Is Arenas. The rich avifauna includes the magnificent flamingos, whose pink color creates an enchanting effect, reflecting itself on the shimmering shades of the water, but also colonies of other protected species, including the Avoceta and the Knight of Italy.

We will have the chance to admire the whole park from the viewpoint on the hill of Monte Urpinu. The tour will continue to the Poetto beach, five miles of shoreline, one of the longest in Italy, where you can have a relaxing walk, admiring the promontory of the Devil’s Saddle, symbol of the skyline of Cagliari.
